Transport Wash SystemsHaulTruck_Wash(web)

Transport Wash Systems supply and service truck wash systems for the road transport, mining, rail and bus industries. I’ve worked with Transport Wash Systems since their inception in 2011 and I’ve learnt a lot. My main role at Transport Wash Systems is to handle marketing both online and offline as well as doing 3D design for both installations and quotations/proposals. The equipment is world leading, supplied by the whos who of vehicle wash system manufacturing globally.

During this time, I have had the pleasure of working on more than twelve heavy vehicle wash system installations and I have learned a lot about design and implementation of such engineering projects.

I’ve also been given the opportunity to take a crash course in business to business marketing in order to get the knowledge of Transport Wash Systems’ great gear amongst the people who need it. This has allowed me to develop many skills like wordpress, search engine optimization, writing marketing copy, customer relationship management with Insightly, graphic design for print publications and much more.

Techo BlocTecho Bloc Image

Techo Bloc are world leaders in architectural paving stones. Based in Canada, Techo Bloc are innovators in their specialist area of paving stones and if you take a look at their site, I’m sure you’ll agree that they have some beautiful designs. I have worked with them to help create digital equivalents of their products in order to allow potential customers to use Techo Bloc products in their 3D drawings

You can download and use some of Tech Bloc’s digital product testers for SketchUp here – in the 3D Warehouse. Along with the free version of SketchUp make – 3D design software that anyone can use – Techo Bloc have provided their customers with an innovative and simple tool to “test out” the huge range of products before you buy.

Awdon Technologiesscanner1

Awdon design, build and install log merchandising machinery to optimise processing of plantation grown trees into usable timber products. The company works on design and build projects and is very innovative in their field. Laser scanning, heavy engineering, algorythmic optimisation, electrical control and heavy hydraulics are all part of Awdon’s innovative machinery packages and gave a broad overview of heavy engineering design and construction as well as hands on experience.

One of the most satisfying things about working with Awdon has been to conceive a structure or tool for a specific purpose, design it, and then physically construct it. Getting to grips with designing for a purpose from beginning to end like that has heavily impacted the way I do design allowing me to understand the need to ensure something is not only fit for purpose but as simple to manufacture as possible and easy to maintain. This is a core tenet of Awdon’s design process and I have been privileged to be a part of it.

Outpost Buildings LtdFarm Shelter Design NZ

Working with Outpost has been great. They’re a clever Kiwi company looking to deliver good quality kitset buildings. We’ve had the opportunity to streamline the processing of their 3D models from design stage through to bills of materials (BOM), cutting lists and assembly instructions. They’re a pleasure to work with and build great products – we look forward to a growing future with them.

Bractlet (Energy Modelling)OpenStudio Xray

Working with Bractlet, based in Austin, Texas has been a great learning experience. They’re a smart bunch of people doing meaningful work helping US building owners to consume less energy through smart building management planning. Together, we use the OpenStudio plugin for Trimble Sketchup to create 3D models filled with energy-specific data that can then be processed by the US Department of Energy’s Energy Plus software. Read more about it here.

Kiwispan Gisborne

Kiwispan deliver buildings in the Gisborne region of the Kiwispan national franchise. I have done some project visualisation for them and have dealt with them on other construction projects – great people to work with.
